Mary was born on June 27, 1957 in rural Hillsboro, Illinois. She attended
Donnellson Grade School, Hillsboro Jr. High School and Hillsboro High
School. She later attended Lincoln Land Community College and University
of Illinois at Springfield.

She was appointed to Circuit Clerk on February 8, 2000.
