IMPORTANT 11/2/2010 GENERAL ELECTION DATES-for Montgomery County, Illinois THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2010: Last day a person may file a notarized Declaration of Intent to be a write-in candidate with the County Clerk. Write-ins shall be counted only for persons who have filed a Declaration of Intent, and are not filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2010: First day for voters who qualify to make application to the Election Authority, by mail or in person, for an official absentee ballot. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2ND, 2010: County Clerk’s Office open for Voter Registration services from 9 AM to 12:00 NOON. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, 2010: Last day for registration or transfer of registration for voters to complete address change or register with all deputy registrars and the County Clerk’s office. (Exception: Grace Period registration.) TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 2010-THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28TH, 2010: In-person Early Voting conducted at County Clerk’s office in Hillsboro during regular business hours M-F 8 AM to 4 PM and Sat. Oct. 16th and Sat. Oct. 23rd from 8 AM to NOON each Saturday. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28TH, 2010: Last day for the Election Authority to receive by mail an application for an absentee ballot, and last day for the election authority to mail such ballot. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30th, 2010: County Clerk’s office open for Absentee Voting from 8 AM to 12 NOON. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 2010: Last day registered voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at the County Clerk’s office. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, 2010: GENERAL ELECTION, POLLS OPEN 6AM– 7PM THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4th, 2010: VOTER REGISTRATION REOPENS Questions?
