IMPORTANT GENERAL PRIMARY ELECTION DATES-FEBRUARY 2, 2010 THURSDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2009: First day for voters who qualify to make application to the Election Authority, by mail or in person, for an official absentee ballot. SATURDAY, JANUARY 2, 2010: County Clerk’s Office open for Voter Registration services from 9 AM to 12:00 NOON. TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2010: Last day for registration or transfer of registration for voters to complete address change or register with all deputy registrars and the County Clerk’s office. (Exception: Grace period registration) MONDAY, JANUARY 11, 2010 THROUGH THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010 - In-person Early Voting conducted at County Clerk’s Office during regular business hours of M-F 8 AM to 4 PM, including Saturday, January 16th, 2010 and Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 from 8 AM to 12 NOON each Saturday. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2009: Last day by 5:00 PM a person may file a notarized Declaration of Intent to be a write-in candidate with the County Clerk. THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010: Last day for the Election Authority to receive by mail an application for an absentee ballot, and last day for the election authority to mail such ballot. SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 2010: County Clerk’s office open for Absentee Voting from 8 AM to 12 NOON. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2010: Last day registered voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at the County Clerk’s office. TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2010: GENERAL PRIMARY ELECTION, POLLS OPEN 6AM– 7PM THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2010: VOTER REGISTRATION REOPENS ______________________________________________________ IMPORTANT 11/2/2010 GENERAL ELECTION DATES-for Montgomery County, Illinois THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2010: Last day a person may file a notarized Declaration of Intent to be a write-in candidate with the County Clerk. Write-ins shall be counted only for persons who have filed a Declaration of Intent, and are not filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
