You may pay your taxes at the Montgomery County Treasurer's office located in the Historic Courthouse, first floor, or by mail to PO Box 596, Hillsboro, IL 62049. A deposit slot is located at the front door of the Montgomery County Courthouse at 120 North Main, Hillsboro, IL. Methods of payment are check, cashier's check, money order or cash. Do not mail cash. Failure of the bank to accept your check will void payment of your taxes. you may pay by credit card through Government Payment Service Inc. by phone. Please follow the instructions on the back of your tax bill.
